Plenty of plants get mistaken for knotweed, so check before you pay for anything.
Take a clear photo of a leaf and a section of stem and send it over. We reply with what it is and it costs nothing. A visit only comes into it if it is knotweed, and the price is agreed in writing beforehand.
The canes die back every winter and look harmless. The crown and rhizome underground keep spreading, and a stand ignored for a few seasons covers far more ground than it did.
